Abdominal Support for Infants

Abdominal wall integrity plays an important role in cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal and musculoskeletal function. When abdominal wall integrity and/or thoracic cage stability is compromised due to gaseous distention, prematurity or anatomical anomalies, the dynamic stabilization of the abdominal muscles is impaired. The NeoBellyBand, created by Ginny McGill, PT, DPT, CNT, NTMTC, was specifically designed for infants to support abdominal muscle function.

The NeoBellyBand is simple to use and easy to apply on babies with typical GI function. With an accompanying Bedside Guide and video instructions, this evidence-based intervention can easily be put into place any time abdominal wall support is needed.
